…For your song inside of me
I found some time to disappear into my lab/studio and do some of the mixing down of the summer tracks I recorded and posted to the website in raw format. It was a good exercise to simply go through the synthesized effects bank and compare/contrast the effects. I also experimented with various input and output buses. I discovered that the default method of recording my live guitar amplifier was being processed as a stereo signal. That was a false setting – appealing as it may sound – because at the time I a single microphone sitting 9 inches a way from my Laney combo amp.
Changing that setting drastically altered the mix output and I had to rebalance levels for the whole mix. In the end, I think I’m getting closer to what I had envisioned.
Who knows, I might even get brave enough to re-record some of the raw tracks. Though generally, I tend to get the thought down and just move on. Too much music in my head to dwell on something forever.
Peace and Tunes.
